CHART]
With Sal Gonzalez up, Dixie's Hope broke from the 5-hole. After getting bumped at the start, she settled in at the rail in about 10th position. She began moving up down the back stretch and had to check mildly in the turn.
She was unable to find running room at the rail coming out of the turn and angled out coming into the stretch. She finished strong to run down Developing Story, but was no match for the winner, Embur's Song.
Embur's Song, a $170,000 yearling purchase trained by Todd Pletcher, won the race wire-to-wire and paid $17.60, $9.40, and $6.20. Dixie's Hope paid $30.80 and $11.00. Developing Story, a $115,000 yearling purchase, paid $5.00. The exact paid $751.80 while the trifecta paid $7372.40.
