Copperplate ran a very impressive 3rd in the Jacques Cartier Stakes at Woodbine on Saturday afternoon. He broke well from the 2nd post and stalked the pace in 5th position down the back stretch. He was behind a wall of horses through the turn and didn’t get any running room until they turned for home. He made a big move down the lane but ran out of ground to catch the leaders. The final time of 1:08.62 was less than half a second off the track record.
