Seeking and Empire finally broke his maiden in a 7 furlong event at Charles Town Races and Slots on Thursday evening. Breaking from the 5-hole jockey Luis Batista guided him to the rail and just off the pace going into the first turn. It was a two-horse match race from the first quarter as eventual runner up Sweeping West led by a head. Seeking an Empire led by a head at the half and maintained the lead until Sweeping West poked a nose in front with about an eighth to run. Seeking an Empire dug in and fought back to win by a neck.
