Hip 2058 is a beautiful filly by Independence Hall out of Miss Spot On by Union Rags. Independence Hall was a graded stakes winner at two and four years old. He posted a career record of 5-2-2 with earnings of $881,500 from fourteen starts. He won the Nashua Stakes-GIII at Aqueduct and the Hagyard-GII at Keeneland. He won at distance from 6.5 furlongs to 9 furlongs defeating such horses as Code of Honor, Tiz Rye Time and Tacitus. He is the #8 First Crop Sire in North American represented by five winners as well as GI placed Civil Liberty.
Miss Spot On is by Union Rags. Though she never made it to the winner’s circle, she did hit the board six times. She has produced two winners including Miss Susan B by Constitution (sire of Independence Hall) who has earned more than $125,000 and is still running. Her 2YO, Miss T Bobo, ran third in her debut, a maiden special weight at Gulfstream Park on September 12.
This filly has plenty of size and stands over a ton of ground. That should translate into a very long stride. She’s a long, lean type that looks like she should run all day, very similar to Temple City Terror at this age. She’s an exceptionally good mover. She is dead correct through the knees and ankles and tracks well behind. There’s no wasted motion. Everything is moving forward with each step eating up ground.

Ted has had tremendous success over the years purchasing weanlings/short yearlings and reselling them at the yearling sales. Those in the know are keenly aware that Ted has one of the best eyes for young talent in the game. Knowing Ted was involved with the filly simply strengthened our resolve to add her to the stable.
