Pocket Aces Racing LLC is very excited to announce a partnership with Winchell Thoroughbreds, one of the leading thoroughbred owners in North America. Winchell Thoroughbreds has campaigned, on their own or in partnership, such horses as Gun Runner, Tapit, Midnight Bourbon, Untapable, Epicenter, Gunite, Echo Zulu, Silver State, Ted Route One, Wicked Halo, Tapiture, Zanjero and Tenfold just to name a few. Winchell Thoroughbreds has 30 individual graded stakes winners of 84 graded stakes races, including 12 individual Grade I winners of 26 Grade I races and four champions. Twelve colts have been retired to stud in Kentucky, with two of those being leading North American Sire at some point in their stud careers.
Through mutual business relations, Pocket Aces Racing LLC was approached about partnering on one or more of Winchell Thoroughbreds’ current two-year olds. After examining more than 20 of their two-year olds in training at either Keeneland or Churchill Downs, Pocket Aces Racing has reached an agreement with Winchell Thoroughbreds to purchase 50% of the following three two-year old colts: Tapcon (Tacitus x She’s Boss), Hyperlink (Independence Hall x La Panzanella) and Wicked Gun (Gun Runner x Maybe Wicked).
All three horses have gone through extensive examination by Equine Analysis Systems. EAS utilizes genetics, mathematical photo analysis and heart to determine potential on the racetrack. In essence, Winchell Thoroughbreds is interested in purchasing with extremely high racing potential as well as potential to one day stand at stud. The analysis for each is below.
All three are with Steve Asmussen at Keeneland or Churchill Downs. They are working forwardly toward their debuts. In fact Hyperlink is entered in a maiden special weight at Churchill on Thursday, June 12. Steve Asmussen is the all-time winning trainer by wins with 10,890 and placings with 27,456. Second place is more than 3,000 wins behind and 8,000 placings behind. He is the 2nd leading trainer all-time by earnings with $471,910,203. He is a two-time Eclipse Winning Trainer, eight-time Breeder’s Cup winner and 2016 Inductee into the Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame.
The colts are being offered as a package of three. Individual pricing is also available. A discount of 2.5% is offered for purchases of two of the three colts. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer our traditional multi-horse discount.
