Storm Temple Pilot ran 3rd, beaten just 1 3/4 lengths, in an allowance race at Indiana Grand earlier this evening.
She got out of the gate well, but was not able to break on top. Unlike the stakes race, she was able to settle in a bit more comfortably in 4th position down the back side. She was sitting in good shape off of very quick fractions of 21.72 and 44.79. Despite similar fractions in the stakes race last out, she was able to dig in and make a bit of a run coming down the stretch. She nearly got up for the place, missing by a short head. The winner posted a new track record of 56.57.
