Takntothecleaners was an easy winner in the Opelousas Stakes at Evangeline Downs on Saturday evening. She broke very well and looked for a moment as though she would take the early lead. Gather As You Go from the inside and Teasin’ Tesla from the nine-hole weren’t having it and Takntothecleaners settled in third position going into the first turn. Takntothecleaners was content to sit in third position behind fractions of 23.26 and 47.10. She made a big, three-wide move between horses going into the far turn. She held a two-length lead over favorite Cheapskate Diva as they turned for home, She started drifting out a bit in the lane, but kept driving to pull away and win by 4 1/2 lengths.
