Pocket Aces Racing LLC is very excited to introduce the first yearling added to our stable out of the 2026 Keeneland September Sale, a colt by Hard Spun out of Broadband by Connect. We purchased him out of the sixth session for $60,000.
Hard Spun is an exceptional racehorse sire. From 16 crops, he has 1,822 foals of racing age. An incredible 80% (1,452) of his foals have made the races and an equally impressive 55% (1,005) have made it to the winner’s circle at least one. His offspring have amassed more than $149 million in earnings. As of September 2026, he has produced 96 black type winners and 93 blacktype placed horses. He has produced Grade 1 winning millionaires such as Wicked Strong, Silver State, Aloha West, Hard Aces and Spun to Run. He’s currently the 19th ranked stallion in North America by total earnings and number 10 turf sire. He has been a top-15 turf sire every year since 2019 and all but one year since 2015.
Broadband is by Connect (Curlin). She is the half-sister to Grade I winner Valid Point. This is her second foal. The first is a 2YO filly by Epicenter named Epiphany. Though unraced, she is breezing regularly at Churchill Training and looks as though she could be nearing her debut. Broadband is out of the same female family as Group 1 winner Sweet Hearth and Grade 1 winner Santa Tereista.
The colt has good size, scope and strength. He is correct through his forelimbs and tracks well, front and back. This should help him stay sound. He’s a very typical physical type for Hard Spun. His shoulder, hip and hind leg all suggest turf, as is to be expected. On the walk, he does a great job of reaching with his hind limbs, while moving fluidly through his front limbs.
As of October 31, 2026, SHARES ARE AVAILABLE!!!
