Aces High Nosed For 3rd In Grade III Texas Mile

Aces High ran a very solid fourth, getting edged out by a nose for 3rd, in the Grade III Texas Mile on Friday evening. He got out of the gate well, but the inside post compromised his position going into the first turn. However, unlike past races, he showed no signs of shying away from running among other horses. He stalked the leaders in 5th position going down the back stretch. Eddie had to swing wide for racing room in the turn and he made a good run down the stretch to nearly get up for third.
