Pocket Aces Racing Adds Yearling Filly by Mastery

Pocket Aces Racing LLC is very excited to introduce the newest member of our stable, a yearling filly by Mastery out of Ceeme Run Wild, by Tiznow. She was purchased at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale on Sunday afternoon. She is our first purchase of the yearling season.

Mastery is an undefeated son of the great Candy Ride. He was a three-time graded stakes winner before being retired due to injury at three. Candy Ride is a perennial leading sire in North America and there are high hopes that Mastery will follow in his sire’s footsteps. Ceeme Run Wild was a winning mare by Tiznow, a top-15 broodmare sire in North America whose chief earner is Tiz The Law.

She has good size, especially for a first foal. That likely comes from being out of a Tiznow mare. She covers a good amount of ground with strength in her forearms and gaskins, but she isn’t too heavy. The filly is very racy. She’s long with a deep girth and reminds us a lot of Temple City Terror as a yearling. Her body frame is very reminiscent of Candy Ride. She is an excellent mover. It is likely her best asset. She is fluid and athletic and we expect she will have a big stride once she gets going.

The filly was offered by Phoenix Thoroughbreds as part of a full dispersal so, she went through the ring without reserve. Otherwise, it is unlikely we would have been able to get her at such a great price, just $20,000.
